Rules & Information

CAMP OVERDONE RULES:


General Rules:

• NO smoking on the property (use the street).

• NO pets allowed.

• Max capacity: 10 people.

• Fish and ducks must be cleaned on the dock (not inside).

• Dispose of fish/duck carcasses in the Falgout Canal (not the camp canal).


Camp Operations:

• Please be cautious, especially around water.

• Fire extinguishers are located under each sink.

• After cooking, ensure gas and heat sources are turned off.

• Use the fireplace sparingly and safely.

• No diving or jumping into the water.

• Inspect the camp upon arrival and report any issues to Liz and the Camp manager, Ross.

• Be mindful of neighbors and observe quiet times at night.

• Replace or notify Liz if anything runs out or breaks.

• Garbage pickup is Wednesday—take the can to the street.

• Extra supplies are in the golf cart garage.

• For Sonos system instructions, refer to the laminated sheet.


Arrival Checklist:

Departure Checklist:

• Take out trash and place the can on the street.

• Strip bed linens and leave on the bed.

• Place used towels in the laundry room.

• Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run it.

• Remove perishable food from the refrigerator.

• Garbage pickup is Wednesday—take the can to the street.

• Turn off lights and set A/C to 74.

• Leave $200 cash for the maid.

• To Lock the door, wake up the keypad & press the button


Boat Usage:

· Fishing and American boat are for authorized users only.

· Max capacity: 4 for fishing, 8 for booze cruise

· Follow all local and Coast Guard laws (life vests, shut-off switch, boat weight limits).

· Adhere to fishing and hunting regulations (licenses, limits, sizes).

· Ask if unsure about operating the boat lift.


Golf Cart Usage:

• For use only in the Fisherman’s Retreat neighborhood.

• Store in the garage—please charge after use.

• No one under 16 may use the golf cart.

FISHING INFORMATION FOR GUESTS:

Welcome to Camp Overdone! If you plan to enjoy fishing during your stay, please take note of the following requirements for fishing licenses in Louisiana:

Required Fishing Licenses

1. Basic Fishing License Required for fishing in freshwater areas with recreational gear; Cost: $17 (residents), $68 (non-residents)

2. Saltwater Fishing License Required in addition to the Basic License for saltwater fishing; Cost: $15 (residents), $60 (non-residents)

3. Hook and Line (Cane Pole) License for fishing with a cane pole without a reel or artificial bait; Cost: $5 (residents only)

4. Senior Hunting/Fishing License for residents aged 60 or older; Cost: $5 (covers fishing and hunting)

5. Louisiana Sportsman’s Paradise License Includes all fishing and hunting privileges; Cost: $100 (residents), $400 (non-residents).


Offshore Fishing

• A Recreational Offshore Landing Permit (ROLP) is required for anglers targeting species like tuna, billfish, swordfish, and snapper.

• This permit is free and required for those aged 18 and older.

Purchasing Licenses:

Licenses and permits can be purchased online through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF):

Additional Information

• Carry your fishing license with you while fishing. 

• Some licenses are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
